Jayette is one of NAMI’s most passionate and dedicated advocates. Jayette is proud to be a NAMI mommy and became involved 20 years ago as a result of her son’s struggles. She is recognized as the go-to person, both within NAMI and the greater community, when mental health issues become a factor in the criminal justice system. Jayette serves on the NAMI-NYS Board of Directors and has been the chairperson of the NAMI-NYS Criminal Justice Committee for many years. Jayette is also a passionate advocate for veterans issues, and as the president of the NAMI Huntington affiliate, she leads her members in support of veterans and service members. Jayette is trained as a Family Support Group Facilitator and a certified NAMI Family-to-Family Teacher.
